FTi signs contract for Carrier's Aircraft Fuelling Systems
Fluid Transfer International has completed the signing of a contract with Thales Naval Limited for the design, manufacture and testing of Aviation Fuels System Equipment for the UK's Future Aircraft Carriers, HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales. Forming part of the announcement by the Minister for Defence Equipment and Support, Baroness Taylor, said: "Today's announcement is a further signal of our commitment to the new aircraft carriers, which will be the nation's flagships. The construction of the carriers is good for British industry overall, bringing work not only to our principal shipyards but, as these contracts for £70m show, to other industries across the UK." FTi is one of the first to benefit from this initial release of contracts. John Little, Managing Director, commented; "This prestigious contract award for in excess of £4.3m is a further milestone in the company's accelerated growth in the Marine Aviation sector in the last two years. As a UK business we are very proud to be associated with these future aircraft carriers for the Royal Navy, knowing the selection our fuel systems will support the flying operations of up to 40 embarked aircraft."
